RICHARD BERNSTEIN HALLOWEEN & BIRTHDAY CONTEST
Richard Bernstein loved Halloween and not just because it landed on his birthday. Artifice, Hyperbole, Masks, and Dressing up were dominant themes in his work after all and what exemplifies this better than this wonderous spirited time of the year.
To celebrate what would have been Richard's 82nd Birthday, The Estate of Richard Bernstein will celebrate by holding the first annual "MEGASTAR HALLOWEEN CONTEST".
Dress up as your favorite Richard Bernstein-inspired character and post a photo on your Instagram before midnight on October 29th. Make sure to tag @richardbernsteinart and use the Hashtag #RBMegastar in your caption. The winner Rory Trifon (Richard's nephew and President of the Estate of Richard Bernstein) and announced on the official RichardBernsteinArt Instagram page on Halloween.
The winner will also receive a vintage Fiorucci Invite from 1985 used to celebrate the release and signing of Mega-Star, Richard's first book. The invite is hand signed by Richard Bernstein himself and dated 1992. The piece features an iconic rendering of drag superstar Divine (who was Richard's date for the 1985 appearance at Fiorucci) and was found in his personal archives. Additionally, this incredible artwork will be accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity by the Estate.
